On Friday, five ladies jumped in a Hybrid Toyota Highlander to make their way to Oregon for Scheris' wedding. Five women in one car, a 28 year old (me), Sarah and Jess in their early thirties, Tamara in her early fourties and Nancy in her early fifties. All very different women brought together by exercise and an excuse to get away for a weekend together.
Having never been to Oregon, the girls joked that they were popping my Oregon cherry. And we did! Let's just be clear, the diet was not good this weekend... eating out, wedding food, bar food... not good. But there was quite a bit of NEPA. A quick recap:
Friday - Dinner at a seafood restaurant followed by 30 minutes of shopping for golf clothes at the Nike Outlet. Kirk, you would have been in heaven!
Saturay - We joined Scheris at 7 am for her last run before her wedding. Just under 40 minutes along the beautiful Oregon beach road. The wedding was at 2 pm and we all headed over to a local bar at 6:30. Lots of drinking, dancing and generally scandalous behaviour. ;-) After the bar we went back to the hotel to find a team of high school boys basketball players doing push ups in the parking lot. The young kids tried to sneak out of their rooms and were discovered by their captains who proceeded to punish them outside. True to form (and drunk off our asses), Sarah, Tamara and I decided to show them what some old ladies can do! We got down (in stilettos and jeans) and outdid them with one legged push ups. The captains nearly fell over laughing watching their team get out pushuped by a bunch of drunk women. If that weren't enough, we followed it up with static squats... although that was much less successful as it required more balance than we could string together after a series of bar shots. Finally we capped off the night with an after hours dip in the hot tub in the hotel.
Sunday - We headed back to Seattle, a little hungover and full from a buffet breakfast that soaked up whatever booze was leftover. I rolled into the condo around 4 pm and did some much needed cleaning (great NEPA). At 7 pm my buzzer rang and so commenced my second round of NEPA for the evening. For those who know, Law and Order (or Disorder) was on. Dear God, I'd like to thank you for civil service...
Back to the grind today, to recover from a body abusing weekend. We ran just over 6.3 miles this morning... to perfect weather, that was just holding on for us to get back to the club before it started to come down. I have a rain reschedule softball game tonight... which may end up getting rescheduled again due to heavy rains rolling in. I'll take the NEPA if I can get it... or the extra sleep if I can't.

Glad to see your pushup form didn't suffer from the drinking. :)
