10.02KM in 44'23", pace 4'26" / KM
It was VERY hot in the gym today, their AC can't really keep up with the immense space. Again, I had PB's in both 5K (20'52") and the 10K (44'23"). Scary enough, that is borderline on being a decent time.
I didn't run much on the weekend, spent most of the time on my favorite machine and no work out at ALL yesterday. Most of the family was throwing up. It's very rare for me to skip a day.
Polska, not sure if you are reading still. Do you have any suggestions for nutrition during a longish run??? 20K is scheduled for Wednesday and I need to make sure I get through it. I seem to hit a wall about 15-17K.

Run Post #6
~15KM pace 5' / KM.. My Nike receiver's battery went dead EXACTLY at the hour mark and I did about another 2 minutes before seeing it was gone.
Starting to feel more comfortable running now.
On a completely unrelated note, while running, I watched The happening. 85 minutes of my life I will NEVER get back.

10.02KM in 45'42", pace 4'34" / KM
My fastest both 5K (22'04") and 10K runs. I felt like I had my ass kicked after running it though. Sort of like I was in a full sprint the entire time. Although, I know that wasn't the case.
Hope you are feeling better Polska...

Run Post #4
Was supposed to be a half marathon tonight. Didn't quite get there. Quite a bit of pain in my right shin. I THINK I may have run outta these running shoes already even though they are only a couple of months old.
12.78 KM ran, pace 4'58" / KM
I used my iPod battery running out as an excuse for quitting. I should have just kept plugging along.

Brick Post #1
Cycling Class: 1 hour 10 minutes
Run: 5.01 km in 24:15 pace 4'50" / KM
Short run but again I ran outta time. It was cool to feel like I could have ran further... I may even be able to take Dennis up on his challenge.
I will try to stretch it out for a longer run tomorrow night.

ran 11.57 km on 6/19/2010 at 11:11 AM, pace 5'07" / KM
Slow, slow, slow. In my own defense, I wore the wrong shirt and by the end my nipples were a bloody mess. Too much information, I know.
Polska, Dennis through down the gauntlet. He wants to race me at the Sprint Tri in Peterborough so I am going to try my first brick training session tonight. We will see how that goes.

ran 12.02 km on 6/17/2010 at 9:29 PM! http://go.nike.com/09lfipto
Pace was 4'57" / KM... I was under that 5' label I so love.
On a side note, how is it that the once fat guy from Biggest Loser ran a 5K race in 21:06???
The scary thing was that tonight I could have ran longer but I was running outta time. People still have to sleep.

Latest: ran 10.85 km on 6/15/2010 at 8:10 PM with a pace of 5'02"/km
Trying to stretch out my distance a bit WITHOUT feeling completely drained when I am done. I managed 19K on the weekend but that seems like to far. I don't even like to drive that far.

Is anyone still out there?
Well, in an effort to document a journey towards my 3rd marathon and trying to break the 4 hour mark, I think I'll blog again to track workouts and stay motivated. Today I should be embarking on the Novice 1, Hal Higdon plan.
If anyone still has an RSS feed set on this site (Kirk?, Allison?, Melissa?, Tosha?) then you'll see this post and I HOPE, track your own personal workout endeavors. I miss connecting and hearing about stupid exercises you put yourselves through.
Because I need to know my pace, in order to beat the 4 hour mark (and because I'm OCD let's use 3:58 to give some extra buffer), I need to run about a 9:04 pace. That would be exactly 3:57:43. Which is almost exactly 10 minutes faster than my last marathon (4:07:46, 9:27 pace), where I was in better shape heading into the marathon training (albeit 7 lbs heavier). Back then, I was in Mountain Conditioning so I was definitely stronger in the legs, and less prone to injuries.
I'm definitely worried about ramping up my strength training while trying to run 4 days a week. This is going to be a fun 18 weeks, throughout a busy summer working on the Yahoo! integration work, where I am already limited on time. I hope this forces me to find work-life balance again...
